But for various reasons only now I was able to quench my "Need For Fallout" thirst ;) I'm a huge fan of Fallout game and hence all of that post apocalyptic, you know, post nuclear stuff, which is extremely dear to my heart. So I thought it might be a good idea to draw something interesting that would express my love and passion for the sacred Title's philosophy :) I've been working on this for about 3 weeks (mostly erazing and correcting what was drawn previously) recalling good ol' times double clicking on fallout.exe and once again understanding that "war.. war never changes.."©"" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=1284 ================================================================================ ================================================================================ Pic Title: "Cafe of Broken Dreams" Author: Natiq Aghayev (aka Defonten) Date: Apr 01, 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pic Description: "Hi, this is my second post-apoc painting based on the Fallout© story. I was always interested in the way the famous "Cafe of Broken Dreams" along with the main Hero himself of course would really look like in real life. Here I tried to describe and portray one of the key moments of the Fallout Universe - a hard to overestimate moment of Chosen listening to somebody and may be already receiving guidelines for the the next "make-the-world-a-better-place" mission :) Dialogues in the Fallout Universe - are one of the basic crucial components that make the game so exciting, so working on this composition representing such significant element was fun and great responsibility at the same time. Of course, each can have his\her own interpretation of each episode or character, I only tried to describe things the way I see them and that's exactly what makes Fallout so exciting and unique - you can always "Build the NEW world you were waiting for. Results may vary..© (Quote from Fallout2 video intro)" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=1512 ================================================================================ ================================================================================ Pic Title: "Brand New Reno" Author: Natiq Aghayev (aka Defonten) Used Software: Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Maya Date: Nov 22, 2007 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pic Description: "Well, I'm back into my tenderly loved "fallout" genre ;) A few words about the painting. Did this for personal satisfaction and fun for about two weeks. The initial very rough sketch on paper was done while I was on the plane returning to my home country from New York city. So it was definitely NYC that inspired the initial sketch and composition. Due to my daytime freelance work I was able to work on this piece only at nights which regularly brought tonns of slippers thrown onto my poor head by my wife ;) Another great thing that inspired me and kept me in the right "mode" are two iconic songs - legendary song by Ink Spots - "I don't want to set the world on fire" (1941) and Lois Armstrong's "Hello Dolly" (1965). I didn't use any photo references or photo footage but did use 3D throughout the composition. The biggest 3D element in the scene is the foreground "RENO" signboard (fully overpainted though). In the "fallout" universe, New Reno setting is definitely one of the most impressive and dramatic places that the central character encounters on his quest. So I thought it would be fun to kind of improvise a little on the idea and concept of post-apoc New Reno and try to make a little "research" on the way it could look in real life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=2559 ================================================================================
